MOFGA Opens Permanent Storefront

6/3/2021

The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) is pleased to announce that its new storefront in Freeport, Maine, is now open. The Maine Organic Marketplace, located at 55 Main Street in the old Bartol Library downtown, allows MOFGA to grow its presence in southern Maine. The storefront will support Maine’s producers through the sale of local and organic products and will also double as an educational space for MOFGA programming.
The retail space offers Common Ground Country Fair and MOFGA merchandise as well as many beautiful, hand-crafted goods from local Maine vendors and MOFGA-certified organic producers. Products include certified organic maple products, tea towels, goat’s milk soap, body care products, teas, fine woodworking and more. Offerings will grow and evolve over the course of the year with new and different seasonal products.
The space also includes room for educational and community events, and MOFGA intends to begin programming in the fall of 2021.
“One aspect of the store will be to create a community space open to all in Freeport,” said Lucy Cayard, MOFGA’s southern Maine outreach coordinator. Cayard continued, “MOFGA is thrilled to have a more permanent location in southern Maine as part of our goal to continue to expand access to local and organic products and sustainably made goods.”
Store hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
