MOFGA is holding Maine Apple Camp on August 30 – September 1. A biennial gathering of apple lovers, orchardists, fruit tree enthusiasts, and cider-makers, this three-day event takes place at Camp Bishopswood in Hope, Maine.
Maine Apple Camp includes panels and talks by prominent orchardists, apple preservationists, and cider makers from across Maine and across the country. Registrants will also enjoy activities such as apple and cider tastings, apple art, and informal book clubs.
John Bunker, Maine-based orchardist and American apple expert, says, “Whether you’re a newbie or an old-timer, a cider-maker or a tea-totaler, a pomological historian, a fruit explorer, a back-yarder or a commercial orchardist, a country mouse or a city mouse — if you love apples, you belong at Maine Apple Camp. I hope to see you there!”
Registration closes on August 15, and is filling up fast. Registration includes food and lodging for the weekend. Tickets are available on a sliding scale, including lower-cost tickets for kids and Saturday-only registrants. BIPOC community members and MOFGA Journeypersons are welcome to register at no-cost.
