MOFGA 2025 Board Election
Voting Open Now Through Annual Meeting On January 23, 2025

The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association is excited to announce our proposed slate of board members for 2025. Short bios of current board members are available here.

Bios of prospective new members follow:

  • Lucy Flores: Food system design strategist and consultant who lives in Wiscasset. Has led design projects, facilitated workshops, and coached in-house program design and innovation teams at organizations including the Fair Food Network, The Nature Conservancy, Plant Futures, Share Our Strength, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Previously helped launch and lead innovation initiatives at FoodCorps.
  • Emily Friedman: Legal Affairs Attorney at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, working on national, state, and local policy campaigns related to a range of food policy topics, including healthy retail, healthy school foods, and healthy SNAP. Lives in Hancock and uses MOFGA’s resources for all manner of gardening questions.
  • Laura Lambert: Philanthropy executive who excels at leadership giving strategy and campaign planning. Currently head of Philanthropic Partnerships at Consumer Reports and is based in Washington, DC. Excited to have another excuse to spend time in Maine. Former Common Ground Country Fair volunteer.
  • Alessia McCobb: Diversified vegetable producer at Sound Pine Farm in Brunswick. Has participated in many of MOFGA’s programs for beginning farmers and farms on land leased from Crystal Spring Farm.
  • Stephen Wagner: Municipal and land use attorney at Rudman Winchell in Bangor with interest in environment and farming. Former MOFGA apprentice at Appleton Creamery and avid gardener. Formerly on the board of Downeast Salmon Federation.

Current MOFGA board members whose 3-year terms are up for re-election in 2025 include:

Current MOFGA board members who will continue their service in 2025 but whose staggered 3-Year terms are not up for re-election in 2025 include:

  • Sikwani Dana (year 2 of second term)
  • Craig Hickman (year 2 of second term)
  • Seth Kroeck (year 3 of first term)
  • Martha Leggat (year 3 of first term)
  • Abe Noyes (year 3 of first term)
  • Bradley Russell (year 2 of first term)
  • Ellen Sabina (year 2 of second term)
  • Anna Shapley-Quinn (year 3 of second term)
  • Ivonne Vazquez (year 2 of first term)
  • Annie Watson (year 3 of final term)
  • Kessi Watters Kimball (year 2 of first term)

MOFGA board members are honored to serve the organization alongside the thousands of volunteers who work year-round on committees and events throughout the state.

Each year MOFGA members in good standing vote on the proposed slate of new board members and current board members wishing to start a new 3-year term. If you need to renew your MOFGA membership or join as a new member before voting, you can do so here:

MOFGA Board Seeks Nominees

MOFGA’s board of directors manages and controls the business and property of the association. It supervises the work of the executive director. It establishes goals and policies, sets priorities, adopts resolutions and reviews programs in support of furthering the purposes of the association. A formal process exists for being nominated for election to the MOFGA board. Those interested in joining the board in 2026 should discuss their interests with a current board member or indicate their interest by filling out this form.
