MOFGA presents its inaugural conference for gardeners
The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) is pleased to announce Gardener to Gardener, a conference for gardeners. This inaugural conference will take place concurantly with MOFGA’s annual Farmer to Farmer Conference at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, Maine, on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
In this one-day conference, gardeners will have the opportunity to connect with and learn from prominent university faculty, agricultural scientists, service providers, farmers, and fellow gardeners through speaker sessions, activities, and shared meals. Gardeners of all levels of experience, in Maine or in the broader northeast region, will find content suited to their needs, gardening goals, and experiences. Session topics range from soil health and garden planning, to growing medicinal herbs and unusual fruit trees.
“We believe that this conference will provide meaningful pathways for gardeners in our community to hone their gardening knowledge and connect with one another,” says Madi Whaley, MOFGA’s educational programs coordinator.
The new Gardener to Gardener Conference is just one of many educational opportunities MOFGA offers for home gardeners. Resources have been developed for everyone from beginners to advanced homesteaders, including in-person and online workshops, seed planting calendars, and educational videos. Gardening resources can be found at: www.mofga.org/trainings/gardening.
The dual conferences will share a lunch and presentation from Assawaga Farm. View a full list of sessions and learn more about Gardener to Gardener at: www.mofga.org/event-calendar/gardener-to-gardener-2026.
