Learn to prune fruit trees to encourage vigorous growth, healthy fruit set and quality fruit yield. Collection and storage of scionwood will also be discussed. This workshop is appropriate for those who haven’t pruned fruit trees before, or those who have just a little experience. Instructors will discuss basic pruning practices and required tools, as well as branch collars, waterspouts, fruit buds, and more.
This workshop will be led by MOFGA’s Orchard Educator, C.J. Walke.
We have tentatively scheduled some in-person orcharding workshops at orchards this spring. Registration is limited for these events and MOFGA requires that participants complete a pre-attendance health self-evaluation, wear a mask at all times, and practice social distancing. These workshops will be held 100% outdoors. Restroom facilities won’t be available on site for this workshop. Please contact [email protected] with questions.
