MOFGA’s Farm Training Project (FTP) workshops are designed for apprentices, Journeypeople, farmworkers and other beginning farmers. They follow an informal format including a farm tour and conversation on the topic of the day. All events are free but require registration.
Rainbow Farm is a diversified pasture based farm specializing in poultry including layers, broilers and turkeys. All poultry processing is done on the farm. They also raise sheep, beef cattle, hogs, livestock guardian dogs and grow MOFGA certified organic vegetables. Come learn about livestock management systems, including rotational grazing and the infrastructure needed for this style of production. Jackie Perkins, MOFGA’s Dairy and Livestock specialist, will provide additional information about organic livestock production.
For questions call 207-568-4142 or email MOFGA’s Beginning Farmer Program Specialist, Bo Dennis, at [email protected].
This, and other noted workshops on soil health, are eligible for travel reimbursement. At the end of the Farm Training Project calendar a mileage reimbursement form will be sent to all participants.
