Learn how to grow a garden of beautiful & medicinal plants that can be used to care for yourself and your family. Emily Springer of Meeting House Herb Farm in Scarborough, Maine, presents a workshop on how plants have been used for centuries in home apothecaries, and offers tips on how you can establish your own apothecary garden. Emily will include a demonstration on how to infuse a dried plant in oil and make a tincture. Participants will leave with a garden design handout.
Meeting House Herb Farm grows over 80 different medicinal herbs and has a market garden of organic heirloom vegetables on 2.5 acres in Scarborough, Maine. In 2019, two years after founding the farm, herbalist Emily Springer expanded it to become a collective of Maine Farms that grow medicinal herbs with a focus on regenerative farming. Meeting House is creating a connection between herbal minded folks and Maine farmers who grow medicinal plants, making local plant medicine accessible for all.
