Community
The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) is a broad-based community that educates about and advocates for organic agriculture, illuminating its interdependence with a healthy environment, local food production, and thriving communities. MOFGA has been at the heart of changing Maine culture and dramatically increasing the popularity of organic local agriculture and healthy rural living since 1971. Once a “fringe organization” that championed an alternative lifestyle, MOFGA is now the oldest and largest statewide organic organization in the United States. Read about our history here.
As a community we work together to transform the food system and celebrate rural living.
What makes our community most special is the willingness of members to share experiences, expertise and resources in whatever means they can.
