Job Description
FIELD CREW POSITION – FULL SEASON:
We are seeking two employees to join our full season field crew. Field crew works Tuesday- Friday totaling 32- 36 hours/ week (yes- think 3 day weekend!) from early April – the end of October with the possibility of continuing on part-time for our winter greens season beginning in November.
Field crew work includes a wide range of farm tasks including harvest, wash/pack, bed prep, transplanting, weeding, seedling production, pruning and trellising, tote/bin washing, etc.
In addition to on farm work, field crew may also work farmersโ markets and complete restaurant deliveries, both of which include driving our 10โ box truck (automatic). A complete list of farmersโ market duties is outlined below in the farmersโ market position description.

HARVEST AND FARMERSโ MARKET CREW POSITION – PEAK SEASON:
We are seeking one employee to join our farm team Wednesday- Friday totaling 20-22 hours/ week from the beginning of June- the end of September (with the possibility of ending the season early to accommodate school schedules).
The Harvest and Farmersโ Market Position will include weekly harvest at the farm each Wednesday and working Farmersโ Markets Thursday (Rockland) and Friday (Belfast).
During the summer months the farmersโ markets we attend are bustling. Farmersโ market work consists of setting up the outdoor market stand, selling produce to customers in a busy retail setting, restocking the market stand, and packing the market stand back into the truck.

Work days at the farm typically begin at 7am and end between 4 and 4:30pm including a paid 15 minute morning snack break and an unpaid half hour lunch break. Farmersโ Market work days may start earlier and end earlier depending on if you are scheduled to drive the box truck or meet the truck at market.
An ideal Candidate:
-brings a positive attitude
-is reliable and shows up on time
-is detail oriented
-communicates well, including listening to directions and advocating for their own needs
-works well as a team & stays motivated when working on their own
-comes motivated to develop new skills including efficiencies & good body mechanics
-is able to lift 50 lbs
-is willing and able to work outdoors in all the variety of weather a Maine summer brings
-has experience working on a farm or other relevant experience (ideal, but not necessary)
-is interested in contributing to our farmโs success
-has experience working farmersโ markets and/or equivalent fast-paced retail or restaurant setting (ideal, but not necessary)
-has a valid drivers license
