The farm is located in Durham, ME, about 25 minutes north of Portland and 10 minutes from Freeport, ME. We are on a 17-acre piece of land. 10 acres of hay, 2 acres of woods, 1.5 acres of crops, a farm store, and 6 high tunnels. We are a certified organic, diverse vegetable farm. We have 6 high tunnels and an acre + of field crops. We are a low-till farm utilizing cultural interventions, green manure, crop rotation, tarping, hand cultivating, and zero pesticides. We grow crops for our farm store, CSAs, several wholesale channels, and restaurants. We rely almost solely on solar power to run the farm infrastructure, apart from the diesel tractor. There is also a farm store that is open 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) year-round and sells all local products from roughly a 30-mile radius. The market also has a kitchen that produces handcrafted sandwiches, soups, salads, and to-go meals comprised of our veggies from the farm and local ingredients.
Replenova’s mission is to provide the community with healthy food using conscientious environmental and social practices. We do this by avoiding all biocides, relying on solar power, using human-scale power whenever possible, paying a fair wage, selling local products, and engaging our community to teach about healthful food. We leverage our commercial kitchen and market to reduce waste, prepare, store, and create value-added products to share with the community. The people on our farm are open-minded and willing to engage in any topic with patience and a desire to understand. If there are differing views, a calm and respectful conversation is welcome. There are plenty of topics available to find common ground if ideological views differ.
