Dooryard Farm

Dooryard Farm is a small family-run farm serving midcoast Maine. Founded in 2013, we grow a diversity of vegetable crops, thousands of dahlias and pasture-raise a few animals. The farm is roughly 40 acres, of which we cultivate about 3, all about a mile from downtown Camden. Our produce and flowers can be found at our farm-store and in local restaurants and markets. We ship dahlia tubers nation-wide. We are proudly MOFGA-certified organic and dedicated to an ecological approach to agriculture where our primary goal is building and maintaining soil fertility. We utilize a combination of low-till and no-till, mechanized and hand-powered cultivation methods.

Benefits

What to Expect from Us

We strive to provide a positive, enthusiastic and generally enjoyable work environment. We’re in this for the long haul and that isn’t achieved through a burn-out, high-stress setting. We do this because we love it and we take joy in passing that on. We have nearly 20 years of farming experience and whether this is someone’s first or fifth farm position, we make an effort to teach all aspects of what we are doing and why. That said we never stop learning new things ourselves and know that everyone has something new to offer us as well. Questions are always encouraged!

Application Details and Deadline

Please include a note about why you want to work on our farm, a resume and 2 references.

We typically accept applications from November to March (or until filled).
