The organic farming revolution that has swept the country over the past decades can trace much of its origins to the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, which is celebrating fifty years in 2021. Reviewing the journey in organic farming of the past half-century and looking forward to new challenges and opportunities, The Organic Farming Revolution presents a collection of essays by prominent individuals involved in MOFGA’s evolution as a leader in the organic movement as well as important voices in national discussions about sustainability, food resources, soil preservation, young farmers, and the intersection of organic farming and human health.Â
Join us for a discussion and question and answer period with some of the books contributors, including Sarah Alexander, Barton Seaver and Daniel Mays and editor Jan Hartman at the Portland Museum of Art.
This event is free, but an attendance cap is in place so participants must pre-register and masks will be required.
To purchase your copy of the book in advance visit MOFGA’s online store.
