Farm Training Project: Starting a Farm in Climate Change

September 11 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

FREE

MOFGA’s Farm Training Project (FTP) workshops are designed for apprentices, Journeypeople, farmworkers and other beginning farmers. They follow an informal format including a farm tour and conversation on the topic of the day. All events are free but require registration.

New Spoke Farm grows diversified, vibrant vegetables for CSA, markets and wholesale.  They utilize a variety of no-till, low-till and soil building practices to grow for their community. In 2024 they transitioned to a new farm property and are focusing on building long term systems while expanding to 1 1/2 acres in production. Come discuss climate smart technologies being implemented on leased land with MOFGA’s Climate Smart and Organic Transitions Specialist, Meg Mitchell.

REGISTER HERE.

For questions call 207-568-4142 or email MOFGA’s Beginning Farmer Program Specialist, Bo Dennis, at [email protected].

This, and other noted workshops on soil health, are eligible for travel reimbursement. At the end of the Farm Training Project calendar a mileage reimbursement form will be sent to all participants.
