Needle Felting Workshop

January 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$45

Join Isabel Stearns, the fiber artist behind The Felted Acorns, for a hands-on needle felting workshop! This class will be held in a small group setting (limit: 10 people) inside MOFGA’s store, the Maine Organic Marketplace, in Freeport, Maine.

Needle felting involves rolling up a small amount of wool roving and poking it with a special type of barbed needle. The process pulls the wool over itself and gradually “locks” it together, making it possible to create three dimensional sculptures. At this workshop you’ll be introduced to the basic techniques involved in felting. Together we will make a cozy felted owl which could be used as a hanging decoration or kids toy. Isabel was introduced to felting as a child attending Waldorf School and later rediscovered felting as a therapeutic art form. Today inspired by her environment and her elementary students, Isabel crafts for the love of it!

All supplies required are included. No experience necessary! Please note: masks are required at this workshop.

This class has sold out. To be added to the waitlist please email [email protected].
