The Maine State Oyster Eating Championship has been an annual celebration at Dennett’s Wharf in Castine, Maine since 1984. This summer the Championship will return as a benefit for MOFGA, which notably hosts the Common Ground Country Fair, and is Maine’s biggest supporter of organic and sustainable farming practices including aquaculture. The event will feature local oyster farmers, restaurant collaborators, live music curated by Tilth Arts & Agriculture, specialty cocktails, art curated for the event by Misled Collaborative and of course an oyster eating contest!
