Gather & Grow: Forest Carbon Management with the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust

September 14, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Join MOFGA and BTLT for a walk through the woods at Crystal Spring Farm guided by Steve Pellitier, a Certified Wildlife Biologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, and licensed Forester with over 25 years of professional experience to learn about forest management practices centered around carbon. You’ll learn the basics of carbon storage and sequestration, ways that they can be integrated into forest management practices, and gain a better understanding of how carbon plays a role throughout the entire forest landscape. This event will be held in-person in Brunswick.

This event is co-sponsored by Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust (BTLT) and Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA).  It is part of MOFGA’s Gather & Grow series of tours featuring homesteads, gardens and more. For the past several summers, this series has explored homesteads and gardens throughout Maine. Tours have featured everything from forests to vegetable gardens to livestock to orchards. Hosts have been homesteading for a few years, or gardening for decades. These events are an opportunity to learn together and from one another, as well as to enjoy some beautiful spaces and places.  For more information on these tours please click here.
