Gardening in Climate Change: Native Plants, Trees, & Ornamentals

April 24 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Free – $20

Are you curious about adapting your garden to the changing climate?

In this webinar, learn some key climate adaptation strategies for gardeners to help your native plants and ornamentals thrive; as well as how what you choose to grow can support your local ecosystem and preservation efforts amid climate change. Learn from Emily Baisden, Wild Seed Project’s Seed Center Director; Daniel Robarts, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens’ Greenhouse Coordinator and Propagator; and Maddie Eberly, MOFGA’s Low-Impact Forestry Sepcialist. Participants will have plenty of time to ask questions. This webinar will be recorded.

This class is the third in a series on climate change-adapted gardening. While not required, we recommend taking the first class in this series for some foundational knowledge on the topic, which this class builds from. MOFGA and our partners will be holding one class in this series each month month from February-May, with more to come in the fall. Check back on our events calendar to sign up for the other webinars in this series as they’re posted! Plus, check out the University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s webinar event page for some additional gardening & climate adaptation learning opportunities.
