MOFGA and Maine Farmland Trust are pleased to present the second installment in our winter film series! Join us for the screening of “Follow the Drinking Gourd” on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 6pm with a Q&A with the film’s director to follow at 7pm. “This feature documentary by filmmaker Shirah Dedman is about the Black food justice movement. Family-friendly, funny and moving, this 60-minute film connects the legacy of slavery, land loss, and climate change to our fight for food security.”
Registration, viewing, and the discussion following the film will be hosted via kweliTV, a platform dedicated to allowing you to discover and celebrate black stories from around the world through curated independent films, documentaries, web series, kids programming, news, and events/live experiences. The $10 registration fee will help cover our costs for hosting the event.
