Parasite Fecal Monitoring for “Backyard” Livestock

April 17 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Free – $20

Learn how to support your livestock animals’ health by examining their fecal samples for parasites and general markers of gut health. Fecal monitoring is one important way to measure the well-being of your animals, and some fecal monitoring can be done at home with the right knowledge and equipment. In this class, Jacki Martinez Perkins, MOFGA’s Dairy & Livestock specialist, will introduce participants to the process of fecal sampling – including the equipment you need to do this at home, common issues to look for, and treatment options for those issues. Participants will examine fecal samples together over the course of this workshop.

REGISTER HERE

Participants are welcome to bring fecal samples from their livestock (goats, sheep, cows, horses, chickens, etc.) that are clearly labelled and safely handled. Details on how to collect samples will be sent to registrants in advance.
