Farm Training Project: Certified Organic – What is it?

Join Joshua Girard and staff from MOFGA Certification Services to discuss the basics of certifying your operation and products as organic according to the USDA National Organic Program standards. Topics will include the application process,  review of the Organic System Plan, annual onsite inspections, the federal cost-share rebate program, and compliant record keeping systems. Girard will provide a tour of his farm and discuss his experience applying for and maintaining his farm’s organic certification. Limited to 20 people.

Given safety guidelines due to COVID-19, ALL Farm Training Project events require pre-registration, and priority is given to farmworkers, apprentices, and Journeypeople. Social distancing is required at in person events with masks worn inside.  

We’re monitoring the recent changes in requirements and guidance at the state and national level with regards to COVID-19 safety protocols.
