Container Gardening

Beginner gardeners can find great success with container gardens. This workshop will provide an overview of best practices to get the most out of small space gardens and will cover container types, substrates, plant selections, and tips on how to manage water and nutrients. While this workshop is targeted towards beginner gardeners, seasoned gardeners are very welcome to join and may have the opportunity to chime in with their favorite tips and tricks.

Kate Garland is a Horticulturist with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension since 2010. Her work involves supporting home, school, and community gardening efforts in Penobscot and Aroostook Counties through a variety of outlets including workshops, newsletters, and volunteer engagement.
