Climate change has noticeable impacts on gardeners, from more extreme weather events, to the increased presence of ticks and other pests. Climate change also has many gardeners looking for ways to support their local ecosystem through garden design. 

In this three-part webinar series, Dr. Annie White will provide some concrete strategies for climate-smart garden design, on a whole landscape level.

Speaker bio: 

Annie White is an Ecological Landscape Designer and the owner of Nectar Landscape Design Studio in Stowe, Vermont. She is also a Senior Lecturer of Agroecology and Landscape Design at the University of Vermont where she teaches courses in sustainable landscape design, ecological planning, and home vegetable growing. Annie earned an MS in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin—Madison and a PhD in Plant & Soil Science from The University of Vermont. She is passionate about designing climate-smart landscapes at all scales—from rural farms to urban backyards.

Registrants will have access to all three webinars in this series. All webinars will be recorded, and the recordings will be available for 14 days after the given webinar takes place. Tickets are made free thanks to the Davis Conservation Foundation.

This class is a particularly good fit for gardeners who have a few (or more) seasons under their belt. Ahead of this webinar series, you may consider viewing these videos for some background information on the topics to be covered.
