Join artist Toki Oshima at The Maine Organic Marketplace for an evening of art and inspiration.
Oshima’s artwork is a cherished part of MOFGA’s quarterly newspaper, The Maine Organic Farmer & Gardener (The MOF&G), and she won the 2016 Common Ground Country Fair artwork contest for her colorful chard design. Her work is instilled with an appreciation for nature and simple joys — gardening, farming and dancing.
Oshima will debut new 11-by-14-inch art prints at the event. This event is being offered on a sliding scale from $15 to $40. A $40 ticket price will include a print of your choice.
Oshima will share about her life, art and relationship with MOFGA. During the craft time of the event, participants will create their own scratchboard illustration using ink and a pointed nib. Create artwork for your own holiday card that you can copy or print! We will have a variety of sizes of boards for you to choose from, and simple templates of ideas if you would like help coming up with subject matter. You’ll go home with a finished board to celebrate the return to the winter season.
Come early or stay afterwards to share, shop and have your new print or a 2016 CGCF Fair chard poster signed by the artist. Toki’s art includes calendars, birthday calendars, notecards, stickers and all fine art prints, which will be available for sale at the store.
