Braiding Garlic

November 9 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

$55 – $65

$65 general admisssion; $55 for MOFGA members

Braiding is a great way to prepare garlic to be stored all winter long, hanging from the rafters in your kitchen where you can use it daily. We’re excited to host Carole Mapes of Flywheel Flowers who will be teaching us how to braid (and decorate) home grown soft neck garlic. A practice with both a functional and an aesthetic side, braiding garlic is an opportunity to create something beautiful while also preparing for a winter of eating lots of healing garlic!

This class will be held indoors (masks required) at MOFGA’s new store in Freeport.

All supplies will be provided, including the soft neck garlic (variety: Inchelium Red) & and a selection of dried flowers, grown by Carole at her farm in Brooks. Participants can bring snips or wire cutters if they have them (not required) or other dried flowers they have at home, if desired.

A former MOFGA farmer-in-residence, Carole has been running Flywheel Flowers since 2017. She offers a flower share (weekly delivers of fresh flowers throughout the season), as well as providing flowers for weddings and events. She also loves creating everlasting flower creations, including wreaths.

This class has sold out. To be placed on a waitlist please email [email protected].

This class is limited in size to 10 participants.
