The following list includes a wide range of accommodation options for vendors, volunteers and fairgoers. Neither MOFGA nor the Common Ground Country Fair assumes any responsibility for reservations, accommodations or overall experiences at any of the establishments listed below. Any business relationship established between any vendor, exhibitor, volunteer or fairgoer, and any proprietor of any listed establishment is made independently of MOFGA and the Common Ground Country Fair. Camping
Camping Within a Few Miles of MOFGA’s Common Ground Country Fair Grounds (listed in order of distance away from MOFGA)
- Farwell’s Corner Campground, Unity RV, tent or camper, and for those wishing to stay at the Fair for the weekend. Located 1.25 miles from MOFGA’s fairgrounds at 479 Town Farm Road in Unity. You can walk, bike or take the mini-shuttle to the Fair. Phone: 274-7590. Starts taking reservations in August.Â
- Bioregional Conservancy Retreat (BCRT) — Thorndike Camping — families welcome, yurts for rent, self-contained RV’s Indoor and outdoor facilities including showers, trails, food forest tours, and pasture for large animals upon request. Visitors who are looking for a farm experience are welcome to participate in farm chores,, feeding, gardening, apple harvest, and construction. Founders of the Food Forest Project, food forest tours incl. wild edibles and flowers of the season as well as a brief intro into geobiology and magnetic earth fields of Gia.  reservations requested. - Waterfront Camp/Cottage on Unity Pond 6 miles from the Fair located on Horseback Road on Unity Pond. Sleeps up to 8 people. Ask for Linda. Phone: 207-314-1218 E-mail: [email protected].
- Unity Guesthouse: 2 stories, on 100-plus acres. 2 bedrooms plus loft, sleeps 1-9, full bath, kitchen, heat, Wi-Fi, between two Hills-to-Sea hiking trails. Available May-Oct. - Check out TENTRR for areas close to the Common Ground Country Fair Fully equipped campsites on beautiful, private land that are pet friendly and already set up. Bramble & Bramble Guesthouse Located in Brooks. 15 minutes from the fairgrounds, 1840s restored guesthouse on a private sheep farm, formerly Rolling Meadows Retreats. 4 rooms, sleeps up to 8 guests, 2 baths, living/dining room, wi-fi, private entrance & great lawn. - Royer Valley Farm Located in Brooks, Maine, and owned by Dick and Amy Royer, has 53 acres of woods and 20 acres of open space that can be utilized for rustic camping. - Large wilderness cabin on Hogback mountain in Montville Can sleep up to 5 people with extra sleeping bunks in the carriage house. Convenient to fairgrounds off Rt. 220 in Montville. - Tranquility in Coastal Maine Campsite #1 – Get away from it all when you stay under the stars. Rural campsites available in coastal Maine. Pet Kennels
Pets are strictly prohibited from the fairgrounds, parking lots (including parked cars) and camping areas.
If you are traveling long distance with your pet(s), please contact a pet kennel in the area. Here are some suggestions:

Service animals, dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, are welcome on the Fairgrounds.
- The CGCF does not permit pets on the fairgrounds or in the Fair parking areas. Read our No Pets Policy above.
- No smoking on the fairgrounds, except for the designated smoking area across from the Fair Office.
- Fair participants may not build fires without written permission from the CGCF office.
- The CGCF strictly enforces Maine laws prohibiting public drinking of alcohol and use of illegal drugs on the fairgrounds and in the Fair parking lots.
- Unauthorized possession of firearms, weapons or explosives is not allowed on the Fairgrounds.
- The CGCF prohibits from the fairgrounds audio and video devices audible to the general public unless they are part of a CGCF-approved demonstration.
- Fair participants may not feed livestock or other display animals unless they are tending their own animals.
- Fair participants may not litter.
- Fair participants may not bring skateboards, bicycles or other unauthorized wheeled vehicles on the fairgrounds.
- The CGCF office assumes no liability for damage to or loss of personal property.
