This event is hosted by the Maine Tasting Center.
What to do with all that fresh garlic you harvested from your garden? Do you want to explore savory jams? Do you want to learn how to safely use the water-bath technique for preserving jams and jellies. Then this is the class for you!
Join us for a hands-on workshop where we will make roasted pear and garlic jam and garlic jelly, perfect for enjoying with meats and cheeses on your charcuterie boards.
You will learn how to safely process your product using the water-bath technique. We will also discuss the how to’s of garlic drying, pickling, and infused vinegar and how don’ts of garlic infused oils.
All materials will be provided and you will leave with a jar of garlic jam and garlic jelly as well as a booklet of recipes and ideas. Don’t forget to bring your apron!
Want to fully immerse yourself in garlic? Sign up for For the Love of Garlic: How to Grow Bigger and Better Garlic, a class & tasting with garlic farmer Meredith Coffin, earlier the same day!
