Raffle to Benefit the MOFGA-El Salvador Sistering Committee
For 24 years the MOFGA-El Salvador Sistering Committee has connected with two organizations in El Salvador that support local farmers, gardeners and communities in growing crops organically. Our committee visits El Salvador regularly and supports the outreach work of these organizations by raising funds for them and for the national US-El Salvador Sister Cities network. This year we are holding an online raffle to raise those funds.
Prizes
The big prize, available only to a current MOFGA member who is at least age 21, is a three-day, two-night stay in a recently built camp 20 minutes from Ellsworth. Swim and canoe on the pond, take walks through the woods or relax in the hammock. The camp is off-grid but has a composting toilet, DC lights and a 12v outlet for phone or laptop charger, and a drinking water dispenser. There is no shower, but a spacious clean lake is at your feet! Steps lead to the entrance of the cabin and a ladder to the lofts. Sleeping spaces include a queen bed in one loft, a double bed in a second loft, a sofa, hammock and several air mattresses. The value of this prize is an estimated $400. The cabin is available from June through September 2026.
Other prizes, available to MOFGA members and others, include a MOFGA grocery tote holding a selection of MOFGA products ($150 value) and mail order gift certificates from Maine Grains ($50), Wood Prairie Family Farm ($100), Frontier Maple ($75), Herbal Revolution ($100), Farm House Coffee Roasters ($50), and Bixby Chocolate ($50).
Raffle tickets are $10 each or five for $40 and are available here. The raffle will close on December 31, 2025, and winners will be selected in early 2026.
