Wanderwood connects guests and our community to vitally important forests, fields, lakes, streams and agricultural lands that surround us. We are a sustainable events business (hosting weddings, overnight guests, and other celebrations) built around an organic farm. We are committed to wholesome food and farming, sustainable building and landscaping, healthy living, and natural beauty. We aim to provide caterers, overnight guests and our community, with produce grown on our farm and working forest. Our goal is always to create a kind, supportive, fun, and active place to work as a cohesive farming team.
Our farm sells to caterers and restaurants, has a small CSA, and sells at our weekly on site farm stand.

Hours and Work Season

• $15 to $18 an hour, based on experience – 20 hours / week
• Schedule outline: Tues, Wed, Thurs, Friday 8:30 am – 1:30pm (weather dependent). Schedule will shift earlier in the heat of the summer.

Job Description
Farm assistant tasks will be directed and supervised by the farm managers. Responsibilities will include:
• Starting seeds and maintaining seedlings in an indoor growing space; observing and reporting on seedling health.
• Prepping planting areas using hand and mechanical tools.
• Planting seedlings and direct seeding outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Observing growing plants for signs of pests and disease.
• Pruning growing plants.
• Weeding and maintaining growing plants.
• Working with purpose both independently and with a team.
• Washing and packing produce following food safety protocols.
• Keeping farm records.
• Assisting with marketing and produce sales at weekly on-site farm stand.
• Managing and maintaining produce inventory and freshness in walk-in cooler.
• Working on farm infrastructure (irrigation, tool storage, etc.) as needed.
• Interfacing with guests during farm related programs and workshops
