Learn to prune berry bushes to encourage plant health, vigorous growth, and high fruit yield. Seth Yentes, co-owner and operator of North Branch Farm, will offer guidance on pruning techniques and safety, as well as hands-on pruning experience via some of the farms’ high-bush blueberries. This beginner-level workshop is designed for individuals who haven’t pruned berry bushes before or have only a little experience.
This workshop will be held at North Branch Farm in Monroe, ME.
March weather can be cold and fickle; please wear layers and waterproofs if possible. Bathrooms and indoor spaces are within walking distance of the community garden. Note that the terrain includes uneven ground, and participants will be standing and moving outside for the majority of the workshop. This event’s sliding scale registration is designed to keep the class as accessible as possible while also covering MOFGA’s costs. Recommended price for non-members is $50; recommended price for members is $40.
