Programs \ Farmer Programs \ Technical Assistance Grants

MOFGA’s Technical Assistance (TA) Grants help farmers and food entrepreneurs access professional technical assistance (i.e., business planning; market research and development; production and scaling up assistance; and accessing new wholesale and institutional markets).

ELIGIBILITY and DESCRIPTION:

MOFGA’s two different sources of funding for 2021 TA Grants are reflected in the two funding pools to which you can apply.

  • Funding Pool 1: Certified organic businesses with direct or wholesale markets. Certified organic farms and processors can apply for up to $2,000 technical assistance that is not limited to any specific market channel.
  • These farms must have completed one of several types of farm business training programs or be able to document a clear barrier to accessing these programs.
  • Funding Pool 2: Any farm accessing new wholesale or institutional markets.  Farms of all production styles can apply for up to $1,000 technical assistance and related, allowable costs that are specific to accessing or scaling up wholesale and institutional markets.

Anyone who has received a past MOFGA TA Grant is ineligible.
