|Earth Day Work Day at MOFGA's Common Ground Education Center|
The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) will host a spring volunteer work party at its Common Ground Education Center in Unity on Saturday April 18th. Activities will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The workday will take place rain or shine, so participants are asked to dress appropriately. Volunteers should bring work gloves and favorite garden tools. A hearty organic lunch will be provided as well as volunteer t-shirts for all participants.
- Volunteers are needed for the following projects on April 18th:
- Garden Clean-up and Preparation
- Orchard and Shade Tree Care
- Re-designing the Common Kitchen Herb Garden
- Light Carpentry Projects

MOFGA’s Common Ground Education Center is located in Unity, Maine on the Crosby Brook Road, off of Routes 139/220.
From north or south via I-95, take the Fairfield exit, and follow Route 139 through Unity Village. Crosby Brook Road will be on your right. Follow Crosby Brook Road around until you see the entrance to MOFGA’s Common Ground Education Center. You may park in the lot near the main building, look for the big yellow exhibition hall.
(From the Midcoast or Downeast, follow Route 1 to Belfast. Take Route 137E west from Belfast to Knox, turn right on Route 220, and turn left onto Crosby Brook Road just after Thorndike village. Follow Crosby Brook Road around until you see the entrance to MOFGA’s Common Ground Education Center. You may park in the lot near the main building, look for the big yellow exhibition hall.
