Artwork Contest For 2006 Common Ground Country Fair

The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) announces an artwork contest for the 2006 Common Ground Country Fair. The selected artwork will be featured on the 2006 Fair poster, t-shirts, other Fair merchandise, and promotional literature. Newspaper articles and press releases will focus on the artist and the artwork. The winning artist will receive $1,000.00.

MOFGA holds a contest each year, and, in August, chooses the artwork for the following year's Fair. The contest is open to Maine residents and MOFGA members (regardless of residence) only. Artists may submit two entries. All entries must arrive in the MOFGA office by 4 p.m. on Friday, August 5th, 2005. MOFGA will retain full rights to the design.

The 2005 Fair artwork contest winner was Susan Balch of Swanville. Her work features a new flock of baby chicks, two beautiful hens (one of whom was at the Common Ground Country Fair) and a crowing rooster. The Common Ground Country Fair will take place at MOFGA's home in Unity on September 23, 24 & 25 - always the third weekend after Labor Day.
