2002 Fair Entertainment and Special Presentations

Notice to all fiddlers, fiddle teachers and other interested parties:

Join the celebration at the 2002 Common Ground Country Fair. Emphasizing the cooperative spirit of music, all fiddlers are invited to participate in a Fiddlers' Showcase to be held on Sunday, September 22, beginning at high noon on stage in the Amphitheater. This will be an opportunity for fiddlers to perform solo, accompanied, or with a group before a large and supportive audience. Fiddlers may play any tune they wish and in any style. The only restriction is that each performer's playing time will be limited to 5 minutes. The event will be capped with a "Flurry of Fiddlers" where all participants will be invited to return to the stage and play several tunes as a group. The suggested group tunes are listed below along with reference to a printed source.

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m., one half-hour prior to the start, next to the Amphitheater stage. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis with 12 slots reserved for "Junior fiddlers" (under age 15) and 10 slots in an open division. All fiddlers performing will receive a coupon good for a Common Ground Country Fair tee shirt, redeemable at the Fair Store.
