Welcome to the Maine Marketplace Area
of the Common Ground Country Fair!

The Maine Business Area at the Fair highlights folks who are succeeding despite many obstacles. Imports are just the start! Add distance to market, high energy costs, high taxes... Are you discouraged yet? But we love Maine, and love conquers all! So come see how we are succeeding in a global era.
You'll find soaps and candles, pens made from historic wood (such as the USS Constitution!), traditional hand-sewn moccasins, both rustic and beautifully finished furniture, canoes, original note cards, beef jerky, blankets, handknit sweaters, henna tattoos, Maine tourmalines and jewelry made with them, fleece clothing, bread, deerskin handbags, granola, canvas backpacks and travel gear... All made in Maine!

If your business uses cotton, MOFGA strongly encourages you to consider going organic! While this is not a requirement for participation in the Maine Marketplace Area, using organic cotton to the greatest extent possible will strengthen your application. Please refer to the sidebar for interesting information about the ecological, social and economic benefits of organic cotton. Thanks!
