MOFGA Volunteer Chuck Lakin

September 2016 – When MOFGA wants some fine woodworking done, Chuck Lakin is likely to be asked. Lakin supports MOFGA's mission but admits to being a poor gardener. "I'm not good with things that need daily attention," he says, adding, "It's no fun to do something you are not good at." So he does woodworking.

Dressed in an outfit specifically color coordinated with that year's Common Ground Country Fair volunteer staff Fair T-shirts, Bri Beecher is a super salesperson at the Rose Gate during the Fair. As coordinator for the membership table at that gate, she speaks about MOFGA enthusiastically.

MOFGA Volunteer Patti Hamilton

In 2012, after Patti Hamilton and her husband, Chris, had been living at their current Whitefield farm for a while, they began discussing names for the property and for Patti's dairy business. That summer as she worked in the garden, a barred owl sat in the trees during daylight hours – which is unusual – hooting its characteristic "Who cooks for you?" call. Patti decided this was a perfect metaphor for her work and for the farm businesses – and so Barred Owl Creamery and Catering was named.
