Many Projects To Take On As Your Own
MOFGA needs volunteers to help us complete a number of projects at its Common Ground Education Center in Unity. Some involve the Fair, while others will serve MOFGA’s wider mission or reduce expenses. Some, such as developing a better greywater collection system for food vendors, need specialized equipment and labor. But many have money set aside for materials and only need volunteers. Why wait until pre-fair set-up to help? We could use the help earlier. If you would like to take on one of the following projects, please contact Vernon LeCount at the MOFGA office. Thanks!
1. Build Dutch doors on the Children’s Area building. (carpentry skills)
2. Paint the main MOFGA sign at the south entrance on Route 220 and other signs.
3. Paint people movers and repair wood seats.
4. Build portable shelving for the year-round Country Store. (carpentry skills)
5. Paint arrows and the word “Entrance” on seven primed plywood signs.
6. Build benches.
7. Build picnic tables.
8. Build wooden barriers and sawhorses.
9. Finish cutting out and painting a “Rabbit” shaped sign for the rabbit exhibition barn.
10. Build more easels to hold schedules for areas of the Fair.
11. Repair wood on railroad crossing. (shovel and carpentry skills).
12. Develop and build action playthings for Children’s Area.
