YRK-13 York Vegetables/Fruit|Diverse/integrated crop/livestock|Educational|Homesteading Community Supported Agriculture Yes Separate Full for 2014 We are a small, diversified farm in coastal, southern Maine, in a rural setting but just a few miles from the town centers of Kennebunk and Biddeford. Entering our third year of production, we grow strictly organically (beyond organic) but have not yet sought organic certification. We draw much of our inspiration from the practice of permaculture, including establishing as many perennial crops as possible while also growing heirloom and native crops. Our roadside farm stand sells our produce and flowers to both CSA members and the public. We also sell some items that are grown or crafted by other local producers. During the winter months, we run a Winter CSA which features winter storage veggies and greens grown in our three greenhouses. Our 2014 apprentice will have the opportunity to participate in every aspect of our farming operation while also living and participating as a resident in our cooperative homestead. More...
