Do you have any old trees on your land that you would like to bring back into production? Attend this workshop and learn to renovate and upkeep your heritage trees. Participants should dress appropriately and bring their pruners, loppers, saws and a bag lunch.

Mars latest to label GMO ingredients

By Carolyn Heneghan - Mars announced Monday it will soon label genetically modified ingredients directly on product packaging across its portfolio. In its announcement, Mars stands behind the safety of GM ingredients and its products that contain them. Mars uses GM ingredients in various ways, including "sugar from GM sugar beets, soy from GM soybeans and certain seasonings and spices that contain GM ingredients," Jonathan Mudd, global director of media relations at Mars, told Food Dive.
‘Growing Maine’ Video Released for Maple Season

University of Maine Cooperative Extension has launched an ongoing documentary video series featuring Maine farmers and food producers telling their stories. “Growing Maine” debuts with Pat and Ed Jillson, owners of Jillson’s Farm in Sabattus, telling the story of their family farm against the backdrop of last year’s Maine Maple Sunday.
