Jason Kafka at the Agricultural Trades Show

Know Your Organic Producers!

Meet Jason Kafka who, with his wife, Barbara, farms MOFGA-certified organic Checkerberry Farm in Parkman. The Kafkas raise vegetables, herbs, flowers and seedlings, which they sell to vendors at the Common Ground Country Fair, Royal River Natural Foods, Barrels Community Market, Wood Prairie Farm, Wolf Pine Farm, other farms, Northern Girl, Crown O' Maine, Farm Fresh Connection, Whole Foods Market, Johnny’s Selected Seeds and Fedco Seeds. Their expertise from more than two decades of organic farming and marketing in Maine often inform and entertain our farming workshops. Jason was also a member-at-large of MOFGA's board, during which time "I did enjoy 12 years of board meeting potlucks," he says. Jason is shown here at the MOFGA booth at the Maine Agricultural Trades Show.
