Organic and Sustainable Agriculture News
Response by Prof GE Seralini and colleagues to A. Wallace Hayes, editor of Food and Chemical Toxicology
GM Watch - 11/28/2013.
By Prof. G. E. Seralini et al. - We, authors of the paper published in FCT more than one year ago on the effects of Roundup and a Roundup-tolerant GMO (Séralini et al., 2012), and having answered to critics in the same journal (Séralini et al., 2013), do not accept as scientifically sound the debate on the fact that these papers are inconclusive because of the rat strain or the number of rats used. We maintain our conclusions. We already published some answers to the same critics in your Journal, which have not been answered (Séralini et al., 2013).
Deformities, sickness and livestock deaths: the real cost of GM animal feed?
The Ecologist - 11/28/2013.
By Andrew Wasley - Much of our meat and dairy produce is made from animals raised on GM feeds. Alarming new claims suggest that the GM diet is affecting animal health - prompting fears over human safety.
Colorado Voters May Be Next To Decide On GMO Food Labeling
Huffington Post - 11/27/2013.
By Matt Ferner - In 2014, voters in Colorado may be the next to decide on mandatory labeling for foods that contain genetically modified ingredients.
Monsanto or Monarchs: The Choice is Ours
Center for Food Safety - 11/27/2013.
By Larissa Walker - Monarch season has officially arrived, and if you’re lucky, you may be one of the few fortunate enough to witness these iconic butterflies taking off for their winter migration. The extraordinary voyage of the Monarchs is a spectacular sight that we may not be able to share with future generations thanks to emerging threats to this fragile species. The sad truth is that our Monarchs are in serious trouble – like bees, they’ve become victims of industrial agriculture.
