Organic and Sustainable Agriculture News
How a Nutrient Economy Can Save Our Farmers, Our Health and Our Environment
Forbes - 2/27/2013.
By Logan Yonavjak - Changing the agricultural paradigm will require new approaches. Ashoka Changemakers recently launched a new initiative that represents their evolution in thinking about how the industrial agricultural system should be evolving - democratically, and with a focus on nutrition and wellness, as opposed to maximized production.
Study: Over 100 Million Americans Drinking 'Toxic Trash' Water
Common Dreams - 2/27/2013.

Bangor Daily News - 2/27/2013.
OpEd by Robin Alden - The first year of Maine’s new scallop management is a success story far beyond its economic metrics: landings that will be reported at this week’s Maine Fishermen’s Forum in Rockport will show substantial landings, possibly headed for a season high relative to the recent decade.

By Lori Rotenberk - At the Driftless Folk School in Wisconsin, 26-year-old Jenny Monfore studied organic food preparation, blacksmithing, and mushroom identification - skills she hopes will augment her income and allow her to live a more independent lifestyle.
