Meet Rani and Jack Howe of Skyscraper Hill Farm in Brooks. This MOFGA certified organic farm raises Christmas trees, sold from the farm and through the Marsh River Co-op and the Belfast Co-op. Insecticide regulators ignoring risk to bees, say MPs

By Damian Carrington – The safety of the world's most widely used insecticide has been questioned by a parliamentary inquiry, with MPs accusing regulators of "turning a blind eye" to the risk for bees.
UMass Amherst Climate Modelers See Possible Warmer, Wetter Northeast Winters by 2070
UMass Amherst - 12/12/2012.
A new high-resolution climate study by University of Massachusetts Amherst climate scientists, the first to apply regional climate models to examine likely near-term changes in temperature and precipitation across the Northeast United States, suggests temperatures are going to be significantly warmer in all seasons in the next 30 years, especially in winter. Also, they project that winters will be wetter, with more rain likely than snow.
Governor LePage Orders Maine State Flags to be Lowered in Honor of Russell Libby

Augusta – In remembrance and honor of Russell Libby, Governor Paul R. LePage has directed that the State of Maine flag may be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Saturday, December 15, 2012 within the limits of the town of Mount Vernon. The United States flag shall remain at full-staff.
