2017 Poster for the Common Ground Country Fair

2017 Common Ground Country Fair Poster!

The 2017 Common Ground Country Fair poster was unveiled during the Maine Agricultural Trades Show in January. The poster features three Columbian Wyandotte chickens roosting. This uncommon variety is well suited to Maine's climate and is raised for both meat and egg production. Local artist Dwight Gagnon of Benton created the design, which is a delightful and fitting image for the 41st annual Common Ground Country Fair, September 22, 23 and 24.
The poster is available online through our MOFGA Store.

Portland Press Herald - 9/3/2010.
By Dennis Hoey – Portland: A group of Maine-based investors has acquired an Aroostook County potato company. One of them, the Libra Foundation, owned the company from 1999 to 2006.
New study weighs in on organic vs. conventional debate
Grist - 9/2/2010.
By Michelle Venetucci Harvey – "Fruit and Soil Quality of Organic and Conventional Strawberry Agroecosystems," a study led by Washington State University Regents professor of soil science John Reganold, is one of the most comprehensive, persuasive studies yet to show the nutritional and environmental benefits of organic farming. Its findings only apply to strawberries – but they do point the way to the kind of research that can, and should, be done with other crops as well.
