MOOMilk signs on to provide milk to Unity College
Bangor Daily News - 1/18/2013. Unity: Augusta-based Maine’s Own Organic Milk, or MOOMilk, an organic dairy company, has closed the deal on its first institutional account. MOOMilk will be available to students when Unity’s cafeteria opens for the spring semester on Jan. 22.

Mercury emissions threaten ocean, lake food webs

By Brian Bienkowski - As United Nations delegates end their mercury treaty talks today, scientists warn that ongoing emissions are more of a threat to food webs than the mercury already in the environment. At the same time, climate change is likely to alter food webs and patterns of mercury transport in places such as the Arctic, which will further complicate efforts to keep the contaminant out of people and their food.

DACF Names New Deputy Commissioner and Director of Division of Animal and Plant Health
Maine Department of Agriculture - 1/18/2013.Augusta - Commissioner Walt Whitcomb has announced that Aroostook County native Dave Lavway has been promoted to Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) and Ellis Additon has come on board as the new director of the Division of Animal and Plant Health.
