Meet Tristan (right) and Jon Noyes of Gromaine LLC, a MOFGA certified organic farm in Caribou that provides more than 50 varieties of lettuce and leafy greens to select Maine restaurants, specialty grocers and directly to consumers – including at the Common Ground Country Fair. These brothers descend from six generations of Maine farmers. Jon grows the crops in Aroostook County, and Tristan, based in Cumberland County, does the marketing.

Hearings Soon on Bills Affecting Massachusetts Food and Farming
NOFA-Mass - 5/25/2013.
By Jack Kittredge NOFA/Mass Policy Director - There will be 2 public hearings in June at which will be considered bills related to the future of food and farming in Massachusetts. NOFA/Mass has identified 8 of these bills as priorities and urges all members who are concerned about any of these issues to attend and testify or to send testimony. Details of the hearings and the bills to be considered at each are below.

Mount Desert Island elementary school wins national honor for healthy food program
