MOFGA's Chainsaw Safety Workshop Level I

362 Flat Rd., West Bethel.
$50/members, $60/non-members


Whether you are an aspiring logger, woodlot manager or occasional chainsaw user, this course is invaluable. The chainsaw is an amazingly powerful tool, but without proper training and knowledge it can be a very dangerous tool. Work with our highly skilled instructors for the day and learn to use your chainsaw safely. Participants should bring their protective equipment and a lunch. Water is available. Registration.

Persistent pollutants slow the time to pregnancy in couples

By Jennifer Wolstenholme and Wendy Hessler – A study of 501 couples in Michigan and Texas who were trying to conceive found that higher exposure to various persistent pollutants was associated with a longer time to get pregnant. The pollutants studied included PCBs, perfluorinated compounds and organochlorine pesticides. The study found that men's chemical exposures are as important – if not stronger – than women's in determining fertility issues.
